Led a small team to design and build Tipper, a micropayments network that allowed anyone to send a Bitcoin “tip” to any Twitter user simply by liking a Tweet. I designed the Tipper experience from end-to-end, including the iOS application, web application, as well as branding and marketing.

Essential UI
Tipper’s interface solves four key user flows: an activity feed of chronological transactions, a detail view for each transaction, notifications of user and system prompts, and financial syncs to deposit and withdraw funds. Leveraging iOS’s native Apple Pay, we provided users with the simplest possible transaction flow for depositing funds.
Valuable onboarding
A valuable first-use experience was primed by Tipper bot, a twitter account used to publish and interact with users’ Twitter profiles. Upon joining, Tipper bot favorited three tweets authored by the user, providing them with funds balance to use the service while educating them on the functionality of the product.
Network facilitation
A system-level diagram helped nurture vision for our small team and acted as reference whenever feature creep threatened efficiency. A devout focus on delivering the essentials helped us keep development velocity high and enabled us launch in-market ahead of schedule.
