Hey! I’m Marcus.

I love building impactful software and have been fortunate to work with extraordinary teams in diverse environments.

At Facebook, I helped build many of the foundational products that served over a billion users. Following my love for product design, I founded a design studio where I partnered with early-stage teams going from zero-to-one. More recently, I led product design for OhmConnect, improving our energy grid by building the world's largest virtual power plant.

Currently, I’m a consulting product designer and early-stage investor looking for ways to make continued impact. If you’re looking for product design leadership, I'd love to discuss how I can help.

Personal values

💡

Velocity is GCF

Execution velocity is the greatest common factor in pursuing “success.“ Every other input is amplified or limited by it.

💡

First principles

Peel back every assumption to understand the base truths, then design solutions that effectively address these problems.

💡

Play nice but win

Never forget that in business you win to survive. Embrace competition and fight to outcompete the market.

💡

Harness heuristics

Behavioral science dictates every user flow. Understand and harness heuristics that benefit your users and business.

💡

Living with complexity

Complex ≠ complicated. Something complex can be made simple when the person using it has a conceptual model for how it works.

💡

Start with a cupcake

The quicker the feedback, the better the idea will be. Get feedback quickly by making a cupcake, then use what you’ve learned to make a cake.

Let’s work together!
